Hydra’s First PvP Gear
I scrimped and scraped some honor points together. Trying to make sure that I did some PvP every day and I just made it.
My Bring on the Death was equipped when I turned 70 last July. My weapon needed to be upgraded first. Looking at it equipped…my first thought was “Great. Now I am carrying around a big glowing red KILL ME NOW sign.” *doesn’t care and does happy dance*
I am having real trouble figuring out what other PvP upgrades I should be getting first.
I really want the Gladiator’s Spellblade but that would require a good offhand. The one I am looking at is Orb of the Soul-Eater which is 25 badges and since I have exactly zero of those. I chose the staff as my upgrade for now.
The old PvP titles pop up on my screen from time to time. I could see the glimmer of how fun that must have been.
Random things I learned:
1. You can have a 40 minute AV with Alliance only getting 20 honor points.
2. For some reason people think in EotS that holding 2 towers and NOT capping the flag will miraculously win the game. The math just doesn’t work.
3. I am getting better at getting Fear, UA, and CoT off on Mages.
4. Megan was right and you really can tell how good a player will do by the shoulders. It scares me when I am toward the top of the damage.
5. Order of preference: AV, EotS, then AB. (WSG doesn’t make the list.)
6. I suck at WSG as a 70 Warlock. But that maybe because I have higher standards from Aurum.
7. In all PvP I have a serous problem getting Killing Blows. But not sure if that is important.
8. Seed of Corruption is fun!
9. Banishing Felguards are fun!
10. CoT Mages, Pallies, and Priests are fun!
11. Tree Druids are Elementals! Banish those ASAP because it makes me laugh. (We thought Fear was bad … can you imagine what it is like to be banished?! *laughs maniacally*)
12. I am tiny. Positioned well can I can spend a very long time killing people. I avoid spells that leave a trail like Drain Life.
13. Players REAL selves come out while PvPing. Are you a jerk and didn’t realize it? The fact that I switch from serious to laughing while in PvP makes me happy. (Or I could just be evil … Na… that couldn’t be it.)
14. Hydra STILL doesn’t PvP.
Just so you Hordies know…all this blood shed was getting to me. But I fixed it. Not only am I upgrading my gear but my new PvP scent is Vera Wang Sheer Veil. Talk about a killer date!
Comments
4. Think me first PvP gear's gonna be the shoulders.
6. Probably
7. Don't think they matter, but maybes someone knows fer sure ...?
8. Sez you.
12. Makes sense. I try to look fer glowy red names rather than the little buggers theyselves
13. Bwahahahahahahaha all the time here.
14. I'm thinking maybe she does ...
I was going to ignore this … because I have seen it a lot… but I can do one better...
Can you believe I have also seen a 4 cap EotS? Not AB but EotS. /facepalm
It is times like these I am glad for Aurum and Iridium… so I know what winning feels like.
PvP can be the most rewarding and frusterating of experiences. But My guild and I are starting to ramp up a little. I'm glad and disappointed that you are experiencing the same things as I am in the BG. How do the minds of the crappy EotS alliance players work? We are losing, and you are fighting in the middle of nowhere. We had a nice 2 cap to 1 cap last night; my group capped and defended, lo and behold, we kept that stupid tower the whole 2000 - 299 loss.
Also, I've noticed a few horde locks with all the s1 gear, and they really sucked. So it's true what they say, the clothes don't make the man (or woman). We got rushed by a lock, and his felguard, who didn't participate much I'm afraid (laughing maniacally).
Oooh Vera Wang!
And grats on your first purchase, I would definately go for 2 pieces of armor next for that juicy +35 Resilience bonus.
