Some guildies and I finally finished off my Ogri’la quests to open the dailies. There are just some group quests that a warlock cannot do on her own. *blush*
So they get removed from my quest log. *grin*
This has to be my favorite part of the new dailies to me.
Yes, I am exalted with the Skyguard and just now friendly with the Ogri’la.
Husband and I were swapping food stuffs the other night. I handed him the Spicy Hot Talbuk I made from the cooking daily reward. Much love from my rogue for the “I am going to kill everything in my way food.”
Hummm… would that make lock food… “I am going to kill everything I can reach 40 yards away food.” *wicked grin*
I realized I had a food preference.
Blackened Basilisk is where it is at, my #1, fills me with warm fuzzy feelings. Full stack of 20 is always on me.
Poached Bluefish is used in a pinch, if I am running low on basilisk meat.
Crunchy Serpent *shiver* for some reason I just don’t like it. Thinking about it makes my tummy turn.
They all have the same well fed buff of 23 spell damage and 20 spirit. So it is really a preference choice.
I realized I need to pick a stamina food item. I need the stamina for some boss fights and trash, particularly now that we are trying the Void Reaver hug attack (like this).
/hug
There is a lot more to choose from.
First, the food items that I disregarded:
Fisherman's Feast - 30 stamina and 20 spirit. I may get a rare Huge Spotted Feltail. It would be hard to keep this item reliably in stock.
Talbuk Steak - 20 stamina and 20 spirit. Hot spicy talbuk should be made instead.
Hot Apple Cider - 20 stamina and 20 spirit. This is holiday items dependent.
Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops 25 stamina. I had to look up what was a Chimaerok. I am not going to Feralas for food items.
We have left to choose from are:
Spicy Crawdad - 30 stamina and 20 spirit.
Blackened Sporefish 20 stamina and 8 mana every 5 sec.
Buzzard Bites - 20 stamina and 20 spirit.
Clam Bar - 20 stamina and 20 spirit.
Feltail Delight - 20 stamina and 20 spirit.
Mok'Nathal Shortribs - 20 stamina and 20 spirit.
I have always thought of spicy crawdad as tank food item. If I am going for straight stamina boost it would be the best. They are easy to get. The fishing holes are conveniently near the 72 elite elementals I farm in Terokkar Forest.
What about the sporefish’s 8 mana every 5 seconds? That would be 96 mana a minute, if a boss fight lasts about 8 minutes, it is not enough mana for two Shadow Bolts. Dark Pact is my mana pool.
Spirit is laughable in everyway for a warlock. Once, I found a level 34 warlock with spirit gear on. I immediately stripped and flogged him. Grabbed stuff out of the AH and crafted some things. Told him if I ever saw him in spirit gear again I would find a suitable monster to eat him… or I might… there are some recipes I have collected and have yet to try.
First choice will be spicy crawdad. If I run out, then blackened sporefish will be my back up.
For the stamina food choice, it looks like lock tank it shall be.
I confess I wasn’t doing anything…
Not Fishing.
Nada.
Not Cooking.
Nil.
Not Skettis.
Zilch.
Not Gathering.
Noppers.
Not Hellfire.
Null.
Not Nagrand.
Not even the Isle ones.
What am I talking about?
I didn’t do one daily on Wednesday.
I feel free.
Apparently after killing trees, bombing eggs, and escorting a prisoner that never stays free... you become exalted with the Sha'tari Skyguard. He has big teeth!
Now that I have a Hunter friend I have someplace to send my Kibler’s Bits. I sent them to her by mail telling her they were for her kitty and thanked her for a recent run.
Well she didn’t know about the recipe. My favorite part was her wanting to KNOW how to get the recipe. That is a good hunter.
Ummmm…
Yea…she is such a sweetheart.
So I let her know that you get the recipe for the pet food from the daily cooking quest in Shatt. Just in case, I let her know I found out about it at BigRedKitty.net who has some great trapping and kiting movies. Good for a refresher if anything.
Are you suuurrre that all your hunters know about the buff pet food?
Come to think of it does this work for Druid type pets? I will have to ask.
Ratter commented on Aurum’s current attire. I dress for the season, from New Years to Valentines (it is just around the corner boys and girls) I am wearing my Tailor made by Hydra Tuxedo. A friend gave me a Red Rose and of course every party girl should have her own beer stein.
I went on a date with VanCleef. I know he has a sketchy past but you know… he said he had a gift for me and wanted to talk… I like presents. Blue Presents are one of my favorites.
Here I am arriving at VanCleef’s door.
Well it seems he wanted to have a hard hitting conversation. He even included others to get his point across. Trying to convince me how he had “turned a new leaf”.
I really wasn’t upfront with him. With his sordid past I was really dodgy with my answers. A girl needs to be careful about bring new men in her life.
I just couldn’t argue with him anymore. In the end I let him beat me down.
I had a feeling that this may happen. With a cooler head I thought to bring my own backup. To make sure I got my own point across. I also wanted my present! I was not leaving until I got what I wanted.
After 14 repeated discussions… VanCleef finally listened to what I wanted. ONE just ONE shirt is what I asked for…not a cloak or cloth shirt. The four Cruel Barbs are nice and I am very pleased. That was what I wanted last time we tried to have a relationship last year.
*sigh*
I do think we have to have a break form each other, I don’t think it will work out, we just don’t see eye to eye. (I am Gnome…well I laughed.)
I am starting with 7668 of 19,300 experience points, 40%, to level. *shudders at the thought* (Not that you cared it is for documentation purposes.)
The first kink in my plan of doing “quick” runs was I didn’t have Flight paths…
No Menethil Harbor…
No Theramore Isle…
No Ratchet…
Did you know that they put Defias I-don’t-know-what-level-you-are-cause-I-am-level-19-and-you-are-a-skull-to-me Brotherhood in Dustwallow Marsh? Well a newly discovered Defias Diver finally killed me. This was after Sprint, AGM, Evasion, and even my Insignia. So I used ghost travel the rest of the way to Ratchet.
With the traveling I had to do, I ended up at 8399 experience. An increase of 731, I feel is not a bad price for getting my Serpent's Shoulders on the first drop. How does that work…
Have leader of the party be the Twinker (the one you sweet talked into running you through). Twink stays outside the instance. Twinker then goes in and clears everything to the boss, or other appropriate area. Twinker call the Twink into the instance. Set looting to Group Loot for a roll or on Master Looter selecting the Twink. Twink takes off all their gear, or everything but items that get durability damage, run up to the mob and die. Once dead you get no experience points. The Twinker can kill the rest.
Wailing caverns is nice, you can use the 3D aspect of the game and have the Twink die below some of the bosses, like Verdan the Everliving and Lord Serpentis. The Twinker doesn’t have to kill every mob in the whole instance. Just walk past.
Now off to get my chest piece!
Getting to VanCleef of Deadmines requires a complete clear of the instance. To combat this Twinker and Twink Main clear out the instance. Two level 70s clearing every mob to VanCleef. It becomes a challenge to see how fast you can make it go. Once clear with only VanCleef alive, the Twinker set as the party leader, the Twink main leaves the instance and logs onto Twink. Twink should have been stationed right outside the instance.
Now as a Rogue, I can sneaky sneak past the patrols. Other classes will need the Twinker to clear the patrols before entering the instance.
Again remove armor and run up to the boss and die. Loot and repeat as needed.
Hydra made quick work of the Defias between Siphon Life and Seed of Corruption there was little down time. VCWC took us about 30 minutes because we were looting. Setting loot to free-for-all is best for getting that done fast. We were able to get 3 runs in before we were called into a REAL instance. No Defias Armor but a shinny new Cruel Barb dropped.
We can now do this run as many times as need be for the needed drop. With no experience gained, time becomes the limiting factor.
As for the upgrade? That +9 Agility put me at 48.2% Dodge!
**random story that no one will care about but a few**
So I have been taking my new shoulders and Shadowfang out for a spin in 2 vs. 2 Arena skirmishes. Prior to this I had competed in arena skirmishes 4 times. A kidnapped 5 vs 5 and more kidnapped 2 vs 2.
In WSG as a flag carrier I am a gouge and go kind of gal. But after a 1 vs. 1, FC vs. EFC, Rogue vs. Rogue, twink vs. twink epic battle … I knew I needed to improve my 1 vs 1 skill. Of COURSE I won… what do you think this is HIS blog. Flag returned and capped too. I am an all-in-one kind of package.
So while waiting for WSG a bunch of us queue for 2 vs. 2. It pops and I hear Aed say that he got a pop, I letting him know I did too. But before I click to go in… I see a scary thing…I see Ulti vanish.
This is THE hunter Twink on our server. With 2K health and a pet that eats your face before you get a chance to blink. Been playing with him for about a year and is a good friend. But I am always glad he is on our side.
I tell Aed what I saw … we put together a “If it IS Ulti lets-hope-it-is-not-plan”. Sure enough it is us vs. Ulti. Our plan is whoever he finds first will have to keep his and pet’s attention. The other must burn him down a fast as they can. We already decided that we lost to him…so our goal is getting Ulti under 25% health.
Ulti finds Aed first … serpent sting, concussive shot, arcane shot… Ulti starts to kite Aed.. like a good hunter.
But Ulti walks right into my backstab, sinister strike, sinister strike, gouge, slice and dice, sinister strike...
We get Ulti to under 40% before I lose Aed. Maybe less I was a little busy at the time.
At 15% I start to flip out I still had about 60% health … I start panicking at the realization I just MIGHT kill Ulti!!
But I had all of Ulti’s attention now. I can see he is trying to kite me. HE pops his AGM. I got him to use his trinkets!! Success me. I still had all my cooldowns Evasion, Sprint, and my AGM.
He gets a concussive shot on me but he is low on mana but does get a serpent sting off to. I will NOT be kited by a hunter. Sprint into his face so he gets a good look at my new Shadowfang, hit my AGM because at this point I am at about 35% heath and he reminded me that I had one of those.
Ulti goes down.
Much laughter and rejoicing. Ulti and I talk about the battle… he is so hard to kill… it makes me almost feel sorry for the Horde. Almost.
So during my quest to accumulate 5,000 gold for my epic flyer there MUST be some farming evolved. Husband kept to his word, to help me accumulate the 5,000 gold. This is between half a dozen Shadow Lab runs, PvP, and other distractions.
But I hurt…
Without Banish while farming I am lost…
I have avoided the Elemental Plateau since the tragedy.
I would sit hovering over the area… watching others farm and be really sad.
/cry
/wipe tear
It was so bad that I actually ran out of Primal Fire… I mean NOTHING… farmed up enough motes to make one for my Shadowcloth… then empty bank.
My heart was ripped out to shreds…
I just couldn’t farm and chat up with friends anymore with the passion I once had. I would go on a run and end up with 7-10 Primals… in Water, Fire, and Air. Stocking up where I was the lowest at.
/sigh
But it is a new world and I must move on without my evil
precious banishing. I guess the powers that be wanted to keep others from using
it for evil purposes in check (What? I
was told I could and keep my Alliance
membership card. You will have to
FIND it on my persons if you really want it back.)
I headed over there… I know the route well.
I immediately fish out about 2 stacks of Mote of Water… that is cool.
Then head over to the busy fire area… which was cleared out when I did my fly by. They respawned while fishing and I look to be alone. So I develop a rhythm.
Take on three… having trouble with four… okay I am rusty for sure.
And then I see him… a Troll Mage…
The Troll proceeds to Ice Lance about 9 elementals… tagging them…
/sigh
The Troll does the whole freeze trap thing yada yada yada…
I am annoyed…
But you know … confusion is fun… noticed my soulstone has four minutes left and really … I don’t want to waste it.
So I run in the middle of his frozen elementals and once they break free I Howl of Terror them all across the Plateau. I rather die then help the Troll farm. I watch him run around and I laugh.
As I retold this to one of the Guild Mages… he put is succinctly for me…
Bastard.
/grins
I ended my farming run with a very short stack of Primals but it was good to get back up there.
Recently Big Bear Butt talked about killing the bog lord guys in the Skettis area. You know the big tree peoples? The 70-71 elites?
Much more detail can be found here by the wonderful Warlock Horns. There are great numbers associated with the drop rates that he had.
Well the druid got the idea from a hunter… and if they can solo them I DEFFINATELY could solo them.
Cause I am a Warlock and all other classes are my Minions. *clears throat after diabolical laughter*
So while doing the Daily Cooking quest up there… I try one out.
/Splat gnome paste.
Okay that didn’t go over too well.
Let’s try that again.
/cheer
They are not immune to Fear at all.
So it was a simple DoT, Fear, DoT, Fear repeat until it is dead.
After skinning the tree with my upper herbalism skills, I was rewarded…
An additional bonus was fishing out Furious Crawdads which when cooked into Spicy Crawdads gives a 30 stamina boost. Much more then the typical 20 stamina most food buff gives. These may help My Tank in Heroics while we continue to collect more gear. So as soon as I get a stack I know where they will go.
