Go take a peek.
Go ride around.
Go get near the chest.
You get one warning…
Jump in you will be dead.
Don’t mind the hunters, warlocks, and mages standing around.
I see … 1 … 2 … 3 rogues waiting in there and a druid for good measure.

The Horde will help me kill you before we attack each other.
*grin*
Just so we know where we stand.
*smirk*
Yes, I get more enjoyment from killing Alliance
then I do killing Horde in the Gurubashi
Arena. Can you tell.
First I would like to start… Hydra doesn’t PvP… you want real information go here who will lead you to others…okay got that out of the way.
So here we go…
Please STOP complaining to me about the state of level 70 Emberstorm Alliance BG.
No resilience? Then don’t come to me and complain that you lose and … yada yada the S3 Horde yada… particularly in BG chat.
Complaints mean you are not thinking strategically and calmly. Sometimes a well loss battle is just as satisfying as a win. So suck it up and reevaluate why you are here… for “fun” remember and so is everyone else.
The 2.4 Battlegear starts you on the resilience you need to PvP at level 70. It costs very little to purchase. So if bought you can have a starting PvP set for under 70G. I was finding resilience/stamina gems on my server for under 15G. Slap in some gems and get some appropriate enchants you are now good to go.
I have spent more than that on my level 19 twink pants. Cough up the gold!
If you cannot BUY gear, socket, and enchant gear for a little PvP. Go whine someplace else.
Wait… scratch that…
Go spend a queue plus the game time to farm for the gold and buy, socket, and enchant some PvP gear.
And YOU with the Season 2 & 3 PvP gear standing next to me in EotS… ugg …. Share the knowledge. Yea I read the strategies. Yea I know where I am going. Hell if I have the confidence that the guy over there has any idea how to play. But if you tell me “group 2 goes to Fel Reaver” and I am in group 2, I will not argue. If we are guarding, explain what you are seeing, this will help me to see it next time.
Those with the PvP gear should also inspect the gear next to them. Did you tell them nicely that the 2.4 Battlegear is out? Did you tell them to stick to you? *shrug* If they don’t listen who cares, but what if they DO? What if that person is new to WoW and didn’t know the word “resilience” had anything to do with PvP or even WoW.
As for my dabbling into 2v2s…
I scraped out 217 resilience pre-2.4 PvP gear. We were able to get our 2v2 ranking above 1500 for the first time this week.
I decided to pick up the 2.4 chest, hood, and leggings to practice what I am preaching here. My resilience increased to 303. Granted I haven’t finished socketing gems but enough to mess around in.
My spell damage dropped a lot but if I can out last the other team we do better.
Enough to not be a complete push over.

…
… …
Hydra doesn’t PvP.
When both flags are held, the flag carriers will receive 50% increased damage done to them after approximately 10 minutes and 100% increased damage after approximately 15 minutes.
This boys and girls, I am told, is suppose to reduce turtles and long flag stalemates.
I have talked with both Alliance and Horde players in both the 19 and 29 brackets, what we are seeing is actually MORE turtles.
In my first game after the 2.4 implementation of this new buff, I asked one of my friends to go help get the flag back. He told me “It is too dangerous to leave your flag carrier alone now.”
Well that sucks popsicles.
Pre-2.4, as a flag carrier I wouldn’t mind a healer with me. If there was a low level hunter with Track Humanoids I would maybe grab them too. I am not one for surrounding myself with defenders. I can handle myself quite well. And a pack of people give my position away.
What we are seeing is more people defending the flag carrier. You will now have the frustration of enemies there to pick up the dropped flag. Making you have to now work on a new flag carrier. If you have a good team this could go on quite a while.
But maybe my “suppose to” is wrong. Maybe it is just to make a more dynamic game. Making people pick up dropped flags and such. Not to reduce turtles.
*shrug*
Time will tell.
Happy birthday sister of mine. Enjoy your day. Love you and sorry I had to kill you the other day.
Well maybe only a little sorry. =P
As of last week I am on an Arena 2v2 team. My team is appropriately called “Prolly Gonna Lose”. (I didn’t have any say in the name we inherited it. Wonder if that should tell us something.)
Well our BM Hunter is all “I wanta Arena!”
Husband and I had this team that we never did anything, it just sat on Husbands character. Well we invited the hunter and started. I had done some skirmishes with the hunter a while back and it was brutal. The Frost Mage and Fire Mage combo was just … owwie.
We are all speced for PvE and are not going all nutty and doing double respecs like some people or some other people.
I whispered the hunter and told him I had some time if he wanted to get games in so that I had my 30% in for the week. He immediately sends me an invite. THEN he queues us up. It then immediately pops for us.
WHAT!!!
My crowd control keys were all set up for PvE not PvP.
Seriously I didn’t even have FEAR on my main bar.
We have access to vent and I am talking to myself. (“Talking” is delicate. It was more colorful at the time.)
Did I mention I couldn’t find my FEAR!
We lost but barely. We should have won. We had the second guy down to less than 10% and if I knew where my Fear was in the beginning that would have made the difference.
So ….
Hooked up to vent and after some choice words…
And reminding him that Hydra doesn’t PvP.
We tried it again.
Won. Won again. And won. Won again. Oh and then we won again.
(The rogue rogue team was the best. Coming from a PvP server I expected more.)
Then I called a stop. We were not back even to 1500 but I didn’t want to press our luck.
Silly hunter queuing us up for matches without our communication set up AND Fear not even on my main cast bar! Well I went 5-1 my first week in Arenas. We should have won them all. I really expected to lose more. Chalk it up to beginners luck. I am sure that this winning streak will fix itself this week. Aurum calls it “Waiting to get smooched to gnome paste”.
I am self sufficient on the Horde side. At level 29 I am my own “Main”. Then one day I received a note from Aurum.
“Would you make contact with the guild DTK and tell them thanks for the great games. That J- rogue is a good player, start with him. Noticed while I was Backstabing him he had a nice … tabard…for a Blood Elf, just thought you should know.”
Sounds good… a new mission… wait… WHAT!
First Ratter was all concerned about needing a “friend”. He is an Orc and I totally respect his opinion, but I have a mission here. I need to focus. It looks like Aurum now has the same thought about me talking to people. These are just not things I would ask Hydra about … she can be kind of scary and evil like.
/sigh
I am supposed to be reporting back findings from the Horde side. So making contact with individuals that know Aurum would make sense. I would at least have something to talk to them about.
I made the initial contact for Aurum and it has been a boon. With my nose in the auction house I chat away with my new found friends. We have had many philosophical conversations about well… killing Alliance. *grin*
In one of my many meetings with J- in the Horde War Room I pinned him down to take a picture.
Much love comes by way to him from Aurum, which he seems to return, and extend to myself. Aurum is right… he does have a nice…*clears throat* …tabard.
This was a great start in this new mission. Apparently Aurum is recognized by some on the Horde side, which when I reported this back to her she was shocked. The information being sent to Hydra and Aurum has been well received. I continue my quest for contacts.
My guild is not a guild of one anymore. Mycalderick joined me a while back. We just have not crossed paths since. As luck should have it, he found me stranded in Felwood with resurrection sickness and my hearthstone on cooldown. (What I will do for a pretty dress.)
We queued up for AB to get me out of that death trap. So we had out first Guild run!
We actually went up against some of Aurum’s colleagues in FE. *cue appropriate Alliance smack down music* They out damaged me and had a great healer…but you need to bring more to beat me.
Recently I came against my first real WSG glitcher or exploiter. We still won.
There was a very handsome human rogue that showed up dancing in the Horde graveyard to protest the glitching. Without me saying a thing, Horde left him alive, but Precious did take a bite or two out of him. I was quite impressed with my teams honor.
In a conversation with one of the members of DTK, RJ said that he had someone that would like to meet me. Well I met him.
He rocked my world with his healing.
When we would run together the boards would be very similar to this one.
But something unexpected has happened… his RL avatar is leaving for a year. My reaction?
Nooooooo!!!
/cry
*wipe tears of pain* I guess I am just going to have to learn to always run without my favorite healer. This maybe a good thing because I really think he looks better in a dress than I do.
What do I have to report? Horde are people too. With new friends it has been making my reports better… but Aurum is right … most do have nice… tabards.
Because of my RL avatars fuzzy head… we haven’t told you about the last two weeks and THEN forgot what went on prior to that…
So looking through screenshots BOY did a lot of stuff happen that I have not talked to you about.
There was the WSG game where our “team mates” wanted to farm Horde for “honor” which is not tolerated by anyone in our guild. So the outfits come out… or just pure naked toons.
Then there are our Horde friends who were out numbered.
With us dancing it was a team of three Alliance
against about six Horde. For the last cap we had a Horde escort. I haven’t
laughed so hard in a WSG in ages… my sides hurt after. Battlegroup forums CAN
be a love fest… here is the post for this
great game. I collected the pictures for your enjoyment.
Then there were the games where we would pick someone randomly and the goal would be for them to have the most deaths. Doesn’t happen often but if you have upset a friend on either Horde or Alliance you get put on the top of this list. Another candidate would be if you had "pwn" or "twink" in your name.
Another game I have heard played is betting on who on Alliance side will say “Let’s farm for Honor!” These people are so typical and most likely will have the most deaths.
*looks around checking if anyone else can hear* Our healers don’t heal them. =P
Alliance has long queue times. Here we are hanging out in Shatt with a Horde friend.
One of our healers just got her fishing hat! Here we are twinking in style.
Again what do twinks do while we wait for a very long WSG to pop? We raid a Horde tower killing all the the level 40 elite guards so we can take a screenshot.
Spreading love in WSG with picnic baskets
One of our best hunters in our bracket is Ulti. Well I actually beat him all my little roguish lonesome in a 2v2.
Here is FE getting ready to raid Crossroads in Booty Bay. Once we crossed there was a flagged level 70 attacking a 63 Night Elf... so we jumped in… got that Pally under 60% health too. Well too many 70s showed up and… whoa… wasn’t it convenient that all our 70s were there too. =P
Remember my goal of picking up my Alliance Battle Standard… it was third on the list. After a week of having my honor points … I was dragged over there to pick it up. So my first goal was to use it randomly and take a picture to share it with you!
Remember Cossroads?? Well I didn’t make it then... Hydra went. I had 9 Coins of Ancestry and needed one more for a festival outfit. Well I just picked up the one in Ratchet. Where is the closest one to me? Crossroads!! Survived the guard didn’t die at all.
Whew… so much fun… just wait for Iridium’s and Hydra’s update!
One more PvP piece bought. I picked up my Gladiator’s Dreadweave Gloves which were a great upgrade from the gloves I had been wearing.
But to tell you the truth… I could have picked them up over a week ago. I had worked so hard to get the honor and marks to buy them I didn’t want to see the number drop to zero.
Silly I know… since all you have to do is go PvP some more. (It can be really painful…don’t just take my word for it…BRK mentions what it is like for Alliance in our battlegroup.)
Now I have to think of my next piece…
Megan suggested getting a second piece of the Gladiator’s set to get the +35 resilience set bonus. Comparing my Shadow’s Embrace and Spellstrike Infusion sets to the Gladiator’s Dreadgear the legs or shoulders seem to be the best next upgrade.
The change that I would get from collected the Gladiator’s Dreadgear:

On top of this I really need to replace my green cloak. It is messing with all the pretty blues and purples. The Sergeant’s Heavy Cape is not too bad with only 7,548 honor needed… the painful part is the 20 Arathi Basin Mark of Honor.
*presses fingers to forehead*
I foresee many losses…20… as a possibility…and will get privileged to be farmed for honor and five capped on by Horde.
ZOMG we pawnz u!
Right?
Isn’t that what all the l33t people say?
Well I don’t know how l33t I am. I still consider myself as mediocre rogue. No one will ever convince me otherwise. After this game maybe I shall upgrade myself to above average...
From my understanding Emberstorm battlegroup is typical, Horde dominates in all brackets. To top it off because of low population across all servers, Farstriders and another, the carebear RP servers, tends to skew PvP to the less than competitive side. In forums it is simply put "PvP doesn’t exist on Farstriders."
Tortheldrin is where our battlegroups PvPers reside. It is where the best Horde twink guild resides, We Kill People. I have talked of them before, early in my blogging to just yesterday. They are the best twink guild in our battlegroup and it is always a joy to see them on the other side of the field.
Compared to them we are a party bus to their swat team. We bring dresses and /dance with our Horde friends… They bring the beatings.
FE brings costumes and party favors. WKP brings power and ... oh yea... a BEATING.
We have hard earned what respect we have from We Kill People, most particularly from Epona, their guild leader. He is brutally honest in the forums and tolerates nubs with a big stick. He is eloquent in his insults and has the experience and knowledge to back them up.
Us? Well I am just glad to hang out with friends, socialize, do my banking, and kill a few Horde in-between.
This last game we challenged them AND beat them!
I am still on a high from this game.
Our 5 FE players (2 Rogues, 1 Hunter, and 2 Priests) against 6 WKPs (3 Rogues, 2 Druids, and 1 Lock)...
Did FE have the ...
Most killing blows? Noppers.
Most damage? Noppers.
Most Kills? Noppers.
Most healing? Yes.
More healing to balance how much damage we were taking? Noppers.
Most deaths? Yes!
So what happened? They were purely out played. Squeal!
We didn’t have the damage necessary to beat them in a head on confrontation. It was about getting them off the FC, protecting our healers, communication, knowing our limits, and trust in each other.
We didn’t blow our cooldowns out the gate. We used them at the most opportune time. (Except me who was so intent in the game I COMPLETELY forgot that I had an AGM. So I totally subtract a death from mine and add one to Invisible. =P)
At one point, Bringing-the-sexy-back-Rushie and I kited their ENTIRE team away from our level 11 PuG flag carrier. Our FC even made it to our roof too! That was the most fantastic thing I have ever seen. WKP team being kited by just the two of us! (But our FC didn’t have any idea how to drop it and give it to our Healer. Which is unintuitive I know... but she had over a thousand health to his I-can-be-one-shot health. Then he was. /sigh)
Diem crit healed Rushie while he was screaming “Grab the flag! I am going to die!” Instead he got to cap it.
Ulti was a flag returning beast. Timing his concussion shots like a champ.
Kaiya in the last flag return pulled off a well timed fear on the EFC. Allowing us to finish off the win.
We controlled this game by our teeth and a thin thread. Minor mistakes glaringly showed on the WKP side. We were always in position to take advantage of them, and did. So much so we hear someone was booted from the guild.
I would have thought capping one flag on WKP would be a win. But two? That is outstanding. Then…
We won.
WE won.
WE WON!
I can be humble on the forums ... but this is MY blog... so here it goes...
"WTF! ZOMG I PAWNZ U!"
*bounces around room*
"You got served by a carebear RP guild!"
*points and laughs*
"Look! See my kills for the day? That was your team! Loser!"
*Squeal*
"See those two kills right there? That is you Epona."
*grin*
"Not so bad for a bank toon."
*bounces into the sunset*
A win is a win and if we never win again *shrug* but this win was FE time to shine!
